This Sesshin, or silent practice retreat, is extra special as we sit alongside 6 "graduating" Jukai students! They have been immersing themselves in the precepts since June, and are ready to formally become Buddhists.
Sesshin is a concentrated, silent practice retreat, offering a full day schedule of meditation, one-on-one meetings with a teacher, Dharma Talks, liturgy and service practice, working & eating together. Participants are encouraged to register for full time participation, to get the most out of sesshin. But given the complex demands of our modern, metropolitan lives, all are welcome to join for as much of each retreat as their personal schedule allows.
Overnight accommodations are available for guest practitioners, though local participants often prefer to sleep at their own home. If you would like to stay at the center overnight, there is a $30/night charge. Otherwise, your participation and donation help us to continue sesshin practice at SWZC. No one will ever be turned away for lack of resources. However you can give back to the center is deeply appreciated.
