Council is an important aspect of training at SWZC. It is a group process of listening and speaking from the heart. In zazen we bear witness to thoughts and feelings as they come and go. In council we bear witness to each others’ thoughts and feelings, get to know each other and experience powerful group connection. This can be an intense experience (as zazen can be).
There is a regularly scheduled council at the Zen Center once a week.
It is usually open to anyone who is interested and you do not have to do meditation to be included in council practice.
