Summer 2008 Campaign

The Zen Center is growing nicely and we are doing visioning that is bringing up a number of projects that the Sangha would like to see happen.  These projects include a children’s program, establishing an affiliate group in Tijuana, creating more art on the property, and doing more outreach in our neighborhood.

The main resource needed to manifest this vision is Zen Center staffing.  We have a wonderful volunteer base and many of you are giving a great amount of time and energy to support the flourishing of the dharma.  However, to take the next step, we really need full time staff. We are hoping to add two staff positions, and at this point our income is not big enough to do that.  The cost of additional staff is $3500 per month.  If we can raise $7000 we can cover the additional staff for two months. They will be working on creating new programs and finding new funding sources that will sustain their positions.  The goal will be to create enough new revenue streams for the positions to be self supporting.
